Paralympic judoka Ramona Brussig of Germany competed at her fourth Paralympics and won medals everywhere. On her Paralympic debut at Athens 2004, she won gold U57kg. At Beijing 2008 she took silver. At London 2012 while 2016 in Rio she won silver. Her twin sister Carmen also took gold U48kg in 2012. During a glittering career, she has won six individual European titles and four world titles. She won the IBSA European bronze medal in Walsall in 2017. Carmen is lefty and Ramona right.

One of the best days for Uzbekistan judo was the opening day of the Paralympic Games in Rio. With two gold medals Uzbekistan stole the show. Never in the Paralympic history Uzbekistan won a gold medal, actually just one medal in London. Today Uzbekistan claimed three medals and won two Paralympic titles. Sherzod Namozov defeated Makoto Hirose (JPN) in the final U60kg and Utkirjon Nigmatov captured the second gold when he overcame Bayram Mustafayev (AZE) in the final. Read more

Brussig judo twins aim for gold at Paralympic Games

Carmen and Ramona Brussig will both defend their Paralympic titles on the opening day of the Rio 2016 judo competition. The Brussig sisters are identical twins with an identical objective ahead of the opening day of the Rio 2016 judo competition, which gets underway.
