Laëtitia Blot won bronze at many European Club Championships with her team. She won a few World Cups starting Casablanca at the age of 30 and added Grand Prix victories in Samsun and Zagreb. She was national champion U57kg in 2013, 2014 and in 2015 she took silver. She won the European Cup in Tampere in 2016. French champion U57kg in 2016.

The last final of the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi saw French Laetitia Blot and Portuguese Telma Monteiro fighting for gold. After only a few seconds, Monteiro launched a brilliant drop seoi-nage, from where BLOT miraculously escaped for no score. Being too passive the French judoka was penalized with a shido. Read more

Laetitia Blot doubles France's golden medal haul

Baku Grand Slam bronze medallist Laetitia BLOT (FRA) won France’s second gold medal on day one after a closely fought contest against Budapest Grand Prix bronze medallist Hedvig KARAKAS (HUN). BLOT, 31, who is producing her best results in the latter stage of her career, attacked with seoi-nage after KARAKAS, 24, who won world bronze in 2009, was penalised with a shido for passivity with 63 seconds left. The scoreless contest was settled by the shido given to the Hungarian and BLOT sprinted towards her coach to celebrate her latest accomplishment on the IJF World Judo Tour. Read more

Top seed Sabrina Filzmoser (AUT) emerged triumphant as she defeated world bronze medallist Vlora Bedeti (SLO) in the -57kg final. Former European champion Filzmoser and her 22-year-old opponent failed to inspire the crowd as the contest lacked any notable action and ambition by the fighters. The last gold medal of the day had to be decided between Miryam Roper (GER) and Laetitia Blot (FRA). After 30 seconds both athletes were penalized with shido for passivity.
