Nicolas Chilard, who tested positive for ostarine in October at the Perth Open, faces a four-year suspension if the B sample is confirmed. Chilard is ranked world number 14 in the IJF rankinglist. Still he competed at the Grand Slam in Tokyo in December.

The daily newspaper Le Parisien revealed on Tuesday 13 December that the 25-year-old Chilard tested positive and had requested the analysis of his B sample. According to our information, he tested positive for ostarine during the Perth Open (Australia) which he won on 30 October. While he was supposed to communicate during the day yesterday, who was dismissed from Sucy-en-Brie, remained silent even if he claims, in his entourage, to have nothing to reproach himself for.

What is ostarine?

Ostarine is a doping product of the class of anabolic steroids banned since 2008 by the World Anti-Doping Agency and makes it possible to increase muscle mass and reduce fat mass. The substance also makes it possible to train longer and recover more easily.

The product is not available in pharmacies, only on the internet. Initially used by bodybuilders, ostarine has been developed in athletics for throwers and sprinters, as well as for rugby players. In combat sports, it is useful because it boosts aggressiveness and concentration.

Possible 4 year suspension

Pending confirmation of the positive test after analysis of the B sample, Nicolas Chilard has been provisionally excluded from the Insep, where the world number 14 was training, and has been banned, as agreed by the rules of the International Judo Federation, from taking part in any international and national competitions as well as from training in a club affiliated to the French Judo Federation. He learned this on Sunday during a meeting with the president of the Federation, Stéphane Nomis.

The judoka in the U81 kg category, who was due to take part in the Jerusalem Master's event at the end of December, was not included in the selections for the first Grand Slam of 2023, which were unveiled at the beginning of the week

Nicolas Chilard, who is on the list of unspecified products banned by WADA and prohibited in competition and training, faces a 4-year suspension.
