Paula Pareto was the first gold medallist of her country Argentina. She tiny World and Olympic champion had a huge performance at her 30st. Paula Pareto was the smallest medallist among the 56, she is just 1.50m. She was also the lightest weighing 47.7kg.

The tallest medallists were Teddy Riner and Rafael Silva, both 2.03. Silva was the heaviest medal winner weighing 172kg. Lukas Krpalek won gold U100kg as tallest athlete with 1.97m, size matters? Maybe in those two categories. Mass not always, Emilie Andeol was one of the smallest +78kg and one of three women under 100kg.

Three athletes fought six matches. They all had a match in the round of 32, but they all lost their last match which means 4 won, 2 lost. Obviously only 42 athletes won their last match.
