Dutch judoka Simeon Catharina became the first ever male World Cadet Champion for the Netherlands. He bagged a gold medal at the Grand Slam in Kazan in 2021. He captured the bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Budapest in 2019. He took a silver medal at the Junior World Championships in Nassau in the Bahamas. In 2015 he also took a bronze medal at the European Cadet Championships U18 Sofia and bronze at the EYOF in Tbilisi. He took the bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2021 and bronze in Paris GS. He took silver at the IJF Masters in Jerusalem in 2022.
