Italian star Ezio Gamba from Brescia was 1980 Olympic Champion and is considered one of the best athletes in Italy ever. He was also finalist in 1984 and won 2 Olympic medals and the 1982 European title. He became famous as coach of Italy and the Russian team winning 3 Olympic titles, silver and bronze by 7 judoka. In 2013, Gamba was awarded the Russian Order of Friendship for his outstanding contribution to the development of sports in the Russian Federation.
