Naohisa Takato is still the celebrated man in the world, but in Japan he is criticized. Buzzes that takato is now part of the B selection of Japan, rather than the world’s most talented judoka. At the World Championships headcoach Kosei Inoue apologised publically for the behavior of Takato in Chelyabinsk by shaving his head at the last day of the Championships. His non-selection for the Grand Slam of Tokyo seems to be a clear sanction.

Takato is not longer the leader, a Sempai, but among the group of the 7 best of each weight category without any privileges.

Enough guys to take his seat soon though. Never a complaint about competition in Japan.

Takato himself takes it easy. No Grand Slam of Tokyo this edition and he is enjoying his new born. He is cheering meanwhile for the successful Japanese from the stands as biggest supporter.

Takato is quite busy nowadays with lots of players who visit his house to see his baby.

The winner of Friday in Tokyo was not from Japan though but from Korea.

KIM Won-Jin defeated SHISHIME Toru in the final. Bronze for OSHIMA Yuma. KIDO was defeated by Kazach Ibrayev in the 1/8 final.
