Paris Saint-Germain Judo is thrilled to announce the return of legendary judoka Teddy Riner to the competitive stage. Fresh off his historic victory at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the 35-year-old claimed his fifth Olympic title, Riner took a short, well-earned break before gearing up for his next challenge.

This weekend, Riner will step back onto the mats in Montpellier for the Champions League event, marking his first appearance since his Olympic triumph. "Teddy Riner is back on the mats! And it's with Paris-Saint-Germain Judo!" celebrated the Parisian club, expressing their excitement over his return.

Although his contract officially ended on August 31, Riner has renewed his commitment to PSG, continuing his Parisian journey. Earlier this week, the French Judo Federation (FFJ) also confirmed that Riner will compete at the Grand Slam of Paris in February 2025, setting the stage for a thrilling season ahead.

Riner won’t be alone in PSG’s star-studded lineup. The team features heavyweight powerhouse Romane Dicko, alongside Olympic silver medallist and Tokyo Grand Slam champion Murao Sanshiro (JPN), Olympic bronze medallist Alisher Yusupov (UZB), and Ishihara Tatsuki (JPN). Together, they aim to secure the prestigious Champions League title.

All eyes in Montpellier will undoubtedly be on Riner, whose unparalleled career has cemented him as a global icon in judo. Since his breakthrough at the Senior European Championships in Belgrade in 2007, Riner has consistently dominated the sport, inspiring fans and athletes worldwide. His return this weekend promises to be yet another remarkable chapter in his storied career
