The second final of today’s women’s categories opposed two World silver medallists, Andreea Chitu, the world finalist in Chelyabinsk. She faced Mongolianb Tsolmon Adiyasambuu who was silver medallist also in Russia but in the team event. If the Romanian athlete was very powerful all day long, she seemed a little tired in the final against the strong opposition of Adiyasambuu.

Turning into a tactical fight, Chitu showed more experience and won the title with a one shido difference on the scoreboard.

Joana Ramos (POR) looked dominated by Ecaterina Guica (CAN) in the first bronze medal fight of the category, but after two minutes and a half, the Portuguese launched a left handed harai-makikomi for waza-ari, immediately followed with an immobilization for ippon. 15 years separated the two athletes competing for the second bronze medal in the women’s -52kg: Ilse Heylen (BEL) being 37 years old, when Eleudis Valemtim (BRA) is only 22. Nevertheless, nothing seemed to be able to decide the winner of the combat until Ilse Heylen was penalized for passivity in the golden score, giving the victory and the medal to Valentim.
