Japanese judo star Kaori Matsumoto is going to marry

Kaori Matsumoto, the current World Champion and bronze medallist at the Olympic Games is going to marry. Breaking many men’s hearts, she found her expected husband in her own country and he is a cook! The Japanese judo star introduced her future husband to her father who was also a cook. Her father, 63 year old Kenji Matsumoto, who was a boxer and cook in a Chinese restaurant.

Kaori and her fiancé are going to submit the registration of a marriage next month. She announced at a TV program in September that she had a boyfriend who she knew for eight years since she was at Teikyo University student until now and she always liked him.

Matsumoto said that her boyfriend's face was irresistible and she said "His face looks like a swallow, like a sweet bird, I want to marry as soon as possible". And so it will happen, Japanese media announced that Matsumoto will marry next month. Matsumoto said "If I eat the dish which he cooks every day, I will for sure make it to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games "

“The Beast” is a feared opponent on the tatami, but outside the tatami very quiet and sweet. She rather wants to be associated with little bunnies compared to tigers. The Olympic Champion of 2012 Kaori Matsumoto is 2012 Olympic Champion of London and double World Champion in 2010 and 2015 and World bronze medallist in 2011. Matsumoto won the Asian Games in 2010 and Grand Prix in Dusseldorf in 2014 and 2016.

Matsumoto, born in 1987 in Ishikawa, Kanazawa is 29-year-old. She started doing judo at the age of six, and via national junior high school championships  in 2002 and national U15 titles she started to claim success in older age classes, but never won a Junior World Championships medal. She broke through the barriers when she was 20 years and took the All Japanese title followed by the Asian title and World title, all in the same year 2008. Since then Matsumoto was unstoppable. In London she was the only highlight in the Japanese team and regained the world title in 2015. In Rio she was defeated by Sumiya Dorjsuren (MGL) but won bronze afterall after defeating her Japanese friend Lien Chen-Ling who fights for Taipei.

The ne-waza expert is 163cm and has an excellent foot technique. In the next period now on she will shine privately, but she already confirmed to aim for a second Olympic title on home ground in Tokyo in 2020.
