At 26 August it’s usually time for the World Championships and we can remember some of the best athletes on this day with a world title. Mongolia doesn’t count too many world titles, but at 26 August both Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar and Urantsetseg Munkhbat won the world title. Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar in Rotterdam in 2009 and Urantsetseg Munkhbat in 2013 in Rio.

But also France won double world titles. In 2011 when the worlds were held in Paris both Lucie Decosse and Audrey Tcheumeo took the title on this day. It was the same day that Ilias Iliadis captured the world title.

One of the legends in judo, Georgii Zantaraia won his only world title in Rotterdam in 2009. We might also remember the world title of Naohisa Takato in Rio in 2013. At the Olympics in Rio this year he took bronze. Kosovo’s Majlinda Kelmendi won the world title in 2014 in Chelyabinsk. And who doesn’t remember the first world title of Shohei Ono, it was a good sign for Ono who won the Olympic title recently. Also Kaori Matsumoto won the world title in Astana, she had to be satisfied with bronze in Rio.
