One of the surprises in the list of gold medals was the double gold for France at the last day. Emilie Andeol captured the gold where Yu Song, Idalys Ortiz and Kanae Yamabe where the big names. They were all on the podium but Andeol, the smallest and lightest of the four was on top of the podium. She let go her tears of four years training.

Emilie Andeol: "This is the most beautiful day of my life and I will never forget it. I was very emotional on the podium because I thought about a lot of moments I had been through. It has been 23 years that I have been doing judo and I have spent many years competing at the high level. I went through all the phases, the doubts, the questions. But I was able to pick myself up and to get that gold medal."

You are the first French woman to claim the Olympic title in this weight category:

"I was already the first one to win the European title; now I am the first one to win the Olympic Games. It has not sunk in yet that I have made history in this category for France. At last I was able to prove to everyone and first of all to myself that I can do it."

Can you describe your day?

"The first fight against Vanessa Zambotti was hard, but the first one is always the hardest one for me. I put so much pressure on myself. I want to do so well that I block myself. For the final, my coach  told me, 'You have nothing to lose. Idalys Ortiz is an Olympic and world champion. It is not you that should have doubts, so go for it, and that is what I did. "

The match went into golden score but you kept control:

"I told myself, 'Don't let go'. I knew I could do it. Even though I was tired, I felt that she wasn't at her best any more either. And so I told myself, 'Go, go; speed it up. You can do it,' You always have to believe and that is what I did."

You will be sleeping like a baby, dreaming about your future

"For the moment I dream of enjoying it and of vacation. I will enjoy it with my family and my friends. I have reached the end of the Olympics but I am not done yet. I want to continue next year and onward. We will see how it goes and why not going for another Olympics."
