Young Russian judoka David Kelekhsaev died during training sessions held in the Kemerovo region of the country. Kelekhsaev was ranked in the tenth in the IJF World Ranking for Cadet. This year he won gold at the European Cup for Cadets in Antalya and ended fifth at the European Championships for Cadets last year in Tallinn U50kg where he fought against later winner Angelo Pantano and bronze medallist Natig Gurbanli.

The 15-year-old athlete was a Russian Cadet champion of Russia.

The cause of death of the young athlete has not been established yet, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the head coach of the junior judo team of Russia, 49-year old Vladimir Gladchenko. According to the coach, the athlete did not have any health problems. "He underwent medical examination in March. If he had some problems detected, he would have never been allowed for the sessions. Last year, he underwent a similar medical examination too, but there were no problems found either," the coach said. "As far as I know, he had problems in his family. He was very worried about the divorce of his parents this year," the coach added.

#RIP young warrior
