Paralympic judoka Iryna Husieva of the Ukraine won gold at the IBSA World Championships 2014 in Colorado fighting U63kg. In 2015 she won the IBSA European Championships in Lisbon. She took the European title again for women U63kg. In 2015 she won bronze at the IBSA World Games in Seoul. IBSA World Ranking leader U63kg 2016, first seeded at the Paralympic Games in Rio where she won a silver medal.

The Ukrainian judokas are the ones to beat when the second day of the Rio 2016 judo competition gets underway. The first of Ukraine’s gold medal hopes to fight will be Dmytro Solovey in the men’s up to 73 kg category who reached the final.
