Georgian judoka Mariam Tchanturia won a bronze medal at the European Cadet Championships U18 Sofia in 2015. She took a bronze medal at the Cadet World Championships in Santiago de Chile in 2017. She took a bronze medal at the Grand Prix Tbilisi in 2018. Mariam won the Junior European Cup in Malaga. Mariam took bronze at the Junior European Championships in 2019 in Vaantaa. With Georgia she won bronze with the junior mixed team in 2019. She became European U23 Champion in 2019 in Izhevsk.

What an amazing year of one of the most extraordinary talents in Europe, Szofi Ozbas of Hungary. In Izhevsk in Russia Ozbas captured her second European title in less than two months’ time and on top of that she added the Junior World title as best gift for her 18th birthday. Ozbas won the triple just like Eteri LIparteliani (GEO) who grabbed the U23 European title on Friday. Read more

Japan’s third gold medal in Chile came courtesy of 17-year-old Yuki Ayano who edged past Cadet Pan American Championships winner Gabriella Moraes (BRA) in golden score.
