Miklos Ungvari shines at home Grand Prix with first gold since 10 years

The home crowd at the Laszlo Papp Arena clapped their hands red for Hungarian judo hero Miklos Ungvari who captured the gold in a heroic final of the 34-year old fighter against Rok Draksic of Slovenia. It was ten years ago that Ungvari won the title at home in Budapest. Meanwhile he won three European titles and three bronze medals at World Championships and silver at the London Olympic Games. World number five Rustam ORUJOV (AZE) won Azerbaijan’s second gold medal of their home event in a tactical final against Olympic bronze medallist SAINJARGAL Nyam-Ochir (MGL) who appears to have rediscovered his best form. Dex Elmont takes his most precious career title in Montpellier

Dex Elmont won the European title in Montpellier, an achievement his world champion brother hadn't done so far. The pride of the two was undescribable. The Dutchman had to wait a long time and won three consecutive European medals from 2006-2008 but this time he won the final.
