Russian judoka Oleg Babgoev took a silver medal at the European Cup in Sarajevo in 2017. He lost the final of the European Open in Minsk in 2017. He took a bronze medal at the European Open in Sofia in 2018. He claimed a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2018. He captured gold at the European Open in Warsaw in 2019. He won the Sambo world title in 2016 in Sofia. He captured silver at the European Open in Tallinn in 2019 and in Warsaw in 2020.
