Romanian judoka Mircea Croitoru won the European Cup in Bratislava in 2017. Mircea is multiple judo champion of Romania in various age categories since 2013. He took a bronze medal at the European Open in Belgrade in 2017. He claimed a gold medal at the European Open in Warsaw in 2023 and silver in 2019. In 2022 he took bronze at the European Open in Prague and Cluj Napoca. He took silver at the European Cup for seniors in Riga in 2022. He finished with bronze at the European Open in Sofia in 2023. He took a silver medal at the European Open in Sarajevo in 2023.
