Finnish coach Markus Pekkola started as coach on the technical staff of the Dutch Judo Association in 2023. The Finnish coach will focus on the guidance and development of the group of female judokas working their way from the talent academy to Grand Slam level. Pekkola participated in the world championships and was twice national champion in Finland in 2002 and 2004. His coaching career started as an assistant coach with the Finnish -18 team in 2005. After two years, he was appointed head coach at the national junior team where he worked until recently.
