Korean Bo-Kyeong Jeong won bronze at the World Championships in 2015. Jeong won the FISU Universiade in 2015. She claimed the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2019. The Korean judoka took the victory in the Grand Prix in Düsseldorf in 2016. Olympic silver medallist in 2016 in Rio. She took silver at the Grand Slam in Tokyo in 2016. At the Grand Prix in Tel Aviv the category U52kg was a 100% Asian final with Jeong Bokyeong of Korea and Maeda Chishima of Japan qualified to climb onto the highest step of the podium. The battle for kumi-kata was fierce for much of a knife-drawn final, but it was Maeda that finally won after impeccable Japanese ground work once again: ippon after an immobilisation. Read more

Koreans dominate Asian Open in Hong Kong with seven gold

Korea was the best nation at the Asian Open in Hong Kong of this weekend. Korea captured seven gold medals. Mongolia and Chinese Taipei both took two gold medals. Korea claimed three of the four men’s titles on Sunday. On Saturday though it was Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Russia that won gold. Interesting was that U73kg category with winner Makhmadbek Makhmadbekov. Read more

Jeong Bo-kyeong shows her value for Korea

At the Grand Prix in Tashkent Jeong Bo-Kyeong of Korea was opposed to Bishrelt Khorloodoi (MGL) for the category win U52kg. The silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Rio in U48kg, now competing in U52kg. It was on a perfect kata-guruma that the Korean won her second Grand Prix title in Tashkent. Read more

Gefen Primo captures gold for Israel

With three bronze medals won this season at the Grand Prix of Hohhot and Marrakech and at the Baku Grand Slam, Gefen Primo (ISR) was the favorite of the day in women's U52kg. She entered the final after her victories against Jeong Bo-Kyeong (KOR) in the semifinal but more significantly against London Olympic Champion, Sarah Menezes (BRA), in her preliminary round. in the final she was opposed to the 2019 Pan-american silver medallist angelica Delgado (USA).
