Universiade gold medallist Han Mi Jin of Korea won her first Grand Slam crown with a resounding win over world number 12 Anne Fatoumata M Bairo (FRA) in the +78kg final. HAN launched her talented French foe with a uchi-mata after just 70 seconds and burst into tears after recording the biggest win of her career and one which opens the door for her to make a late run for a place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Tomita Wakaba takes heavyweight gold in Abu Dhabi

Japanese Tomita Wakaba became Junior world champion for Japan after a perfect day in Abu Dhabi. All four opponents were powerless to stop Junior Asian Championships silver medallist Tomito who ended every contest by ippon. The 18-year-old bested three-time Junior European Cup winner Camila Nogueira of Brazil in the +78kg final by an uchi-mata on the edge of the area with 48 seconds left. Read more
