Japanese heavyweight Sarah Asahina became World Champion in 2018 in Baku and silver medallist in 2017 in Budapest. She won the Grand Slams in Paris and Ekaterinburg in 2017. She won the Grand Slam in Tokyo in 2016 and 2017 and Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2018. Asahina won the World Junior Championships U21 in 2014 in Miami. Asahina is one of the youngest ever winners of a senior World Cup event at the age of 16. (Sofia-2013). She won the Kodokan Cup in 2015 and 2014
