Slovenian judoka Klara Apotekar opened 2019 with a victory at the Grand Prix in Tel Aviv. She became European Junior champion in 2017 in Maribor. She won silver at the 2015 World Junior Championships and she took silver at the Grand Slam in Tyumen in 2016. Apotekar won a European U23 silver medal in 2014. Half-sister of Ana Velensek. She took a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Tunis in 2018 and bronze at the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2018 and 2019. Grand Prix silver in Zagreb in 2018.

Two Slovenian women were strong today at the Second day of the European Open in Sofia. Both Anka Pogacnik (U70kg) and Klara Apotekar (U78) won the gold in their divisions. The third gold medal was for German Carolin Weiss who regained her title of 2014. Read more

Croatian Brigita Matic is the second in the family to capture the World Junior title. In Abu Dhabi she stepped into the light of her sister Barbara with another great milestone in her career. Brigita Matic won the Youth Olympics in 2014. She won World Cadet and Junior bronze as well as with the Croatian team, in 2013 and gold in 2015. Matic won the European Cadet title in 2012 and EYOF in 2011 and silver in 2013. European Junior bronze in 2012 and 2015. Read more

Poland claims the victory at European Cup Bratislava

Poland has taken the victory after all at the second day of the European Cup in Bratislava. On Saturday Poland won 7 medals, but no gold. On Sunday it was an all Polish final for men U90kg. Tomasz Szczepaniak and Patryk Ciechomski were the finalist with a guaranteed gold medal for Poland. Read more
