Vadzim Shoka wins his first IJF title for Belarus
Vadzim Shoka (BLR) won his first IJF final as he beat Italian youngster Giovanni Esposito with a late flurry in the last 30 seconds of their U73kg gold medal contest. Both Esposito brothers were good today but it was this time Esposito who reached the podium. World number 47 Shoka made a slow start as Esposito looked composed and set about controlling his opponent with his superior kumi-kata and ashi-waza. Read more

Sagi Muki delivers for Israel at maiden Grand Prix
The full crowd cheered when Sagi Muki took the third gold medal for Israel at this first Grand Prix in Tel Aviv and first ever World Tour event in Israel. The crowd cheered all day but the Shlomo Group Arena exploded when Muki threw Ivaylo Ivanov in the final U81kg in the last contest of the day. Read more

European Cup Berlin good practise for Malaga in September
Eighteen medal winning nations at the Junior European Cup in Berlin. France however was the most dominant nation with four gold and ten medals in total. Russia and Italy also impressed with three gold medals. None of last year’s winner could prolong his title which is typical for the strength of this qualification tournament for the European Championships later this year in Malaga. Read more

What a historical week for Italy. Last week the Italian talents had their best ever EYOF in history with five gold medals. This week at the Cadet World Championships Italy already gained two silver medals, but today Giovanni Esposito delivered the gold and secured the best ever performance of his country at World Championships.
