Russian judoka Islam Yashuev won the European senior title in 2018 in Tel Aviv. He was European U23 Champion in 2014 and 2015 U60kg. He won his first World Cup in Tallinn in 2014. He won silver at the Grand Prix in Qingdao. He won a silver medal at the European Open in Rome in 2017 and silver at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2017. He took bronze at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2017. He won silver at the Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg in 2018. He claimed bronze at the Grand Slam in Brasilia in 2019.
