Russian judoka Daria Mezhetskaia won World Junior bronze in 2014 in Miami and won bronze with the Russian team. She captured silver at the Grand Prix in Tel Aviv in 2019. She won silver at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2016. Mezhetskaia 2012 Russian junior and 2015 U23 champion U57kg. Mezhetskaia won European silver at EYOF in 2009 and European U21 in 2013. Russian sport heavily penalised with four year ban by WADA

Russia is on course to have its presence and participation in international sport severely curtailed for four years, after World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) leaders today endorsed the recommendations of the Agency’s Compliance Review Committee (CRC). But the sanctions stop short of a blanket ban on Russian athletes. WADA said the decision was unanimous. The latest ban leaves the door open for Russian athletes, who can prove they are not tainted by the scandal, to compete as neutral athletes. Read more

Winning finals is a quality. Just a gut feeling says that the Japanese understand that quality really well. Zooming into the stats, just confirms that the Japanese are true masters taking the gold in a final.
