Russian judoka Tamerlan Bashaev is European Champion of 2020 in Prague and took European silver in 2018. He won bronze at the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games. He claimed the gold medasl at the Grand Slams in Tokyuo and Qazaq Barysy in Astana in 2023 and gold at Grand Slam in Antalya and Kazan in 2021. He won the Grand Slam of Ekaterinburg in 2019. He became World Junior Champion in 2015 in Abu Dhabi. The heavyweight won World Junior bronze with Russia. He was European Team Champion in 2015. Bashaev became European U23 Champion in 2017 held in Podgorica. He triumphed at the GP in Dushanbe in 2023.
