Croatian World Junior Champion 2015 Brigita Matic-Ljuba won the Youth Olympics in 2014. She won World Cadet and Junior bronze with Croatia, in 2013 and gold in 2015. Matic won the European Cadet title in 2012 and EYOF in 2011 and silver in 2013. European junior bronze in 2012 and 2015, U23 silver and silver U21 years in 2016 in Malaga. She married Ivan Ljuba in 2017 and is named as Brigita Ljuba and became mother in 2018. She won European Cup medals in Malaga in 2018 and in Bratislava in 2019.

After having a baby, Japan's Kaori Matsumoto declared that she was ready to make a comeback for Tokyo 2020. Getting back as a mother isn't that easy. Just a hand full of strong judo women had a successful comeback, but most struggle or their mind has changed. Zagreb opens the World Tour with new generation

This week the first IJF World Tour event will be held, in the beautiful city of Zagreb the top athletes will gain new points for a good seeing and slowly build up their Olympic cycle. It’s the fourth edition of the Croatian Grand Prix, first held in Rijeka, and since 2014 in the capital. The tournament is a stable event in the IJF World Tour and that will be confirmed by a new contract for another term of four years. Read more


Who will qualify for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires

For the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in Argentina in 2018, the qualification quota are announced. 104 athletes are welcome, with a maximum of 2 athletes (1 boy, 1 girl) per nation. To be eligible to participate in the Youth Olympic Games, athletes must have been born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December 2003. World Ranking List (WRL) points are given for results at IJF Cadets WJT events. Read more
