Mungunchimeg Baldorj of Mongolia claimed bronze at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest. She won various World Cup level medals. Three bronze medals in Abu Dhabi, Ulaanbaatar and Grand Slam Moscow, all U63kg. She won bronze at the World Junior Championships in 2013 U63kg. In 2016 she won the Polish Open in Warsaw. She won the Grand Prix Ulaanbaatar in 2016. She became European Club Champion in 2017 with Flam'91 and Champions League in 2018. Baldorj won the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2018.

With her best result in 2018 being a seventh place at the Paris Grand Slam, Baldorj Mungunchimeg (MGL) today achieved her best performance of the season. In the final of the Grand Slam in Tashkent she was opposed to another outsider Maria Centracchio (ITA), who finished with bronze at the Glasgow European Open 2018. Read more

There are two very obvious top contenders in the category U63kg in Budapest and both have won a World title before: Tina Trstenjak of Slovenia and Clarisse Agbegnenou of France. Of the two, Trstenjak has the slight edge. She is the defending Olympic, World, and European Champion and she has won the last four encounters with Agbegnenou. But this time it cannot be the final.
