Mongolian judoka Kherlen Ganbold won the Grand Prix in Qingdao in 2012 and Grand Prix in Miami in 2013. He captured bronze at the Grand Prix in Antalya in 2018. He took bronze at the Grand Prix in Jeju in 2014. He captured silver at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2017. He took gold at the IJF Masters in 2017. He was 7th at the 2018 World Championships. Ganbold won the Champions League with Sporting Clube Portugal Lisbon in 2018. In 2019 he won the Grand Prix in Montreal and Budapest.

Mongolian Kherlen Ganbold wins back-to-back IJF event

Kherlen Ganbold of Mongolia recorded his second IJF World Judo Tour win in as many weeks as he responded to being left out of Mongolia’s team for the Worlds in the best possible way. At the Grand Prix in Budapest Ganbold trailed to Asian-Pacific Championships silver medallist Yeldos Zhumakanov (KAZ) by a waza-ari score but fought his way back into the final and subdued his Asian rival by ippon. Last week Ganbold became the Montreal Grand Prix gold medallist. Read more
