Sagi Muki delivers for Israel at maiden Grand Prix

The full crowd cheered when Sagi Muki took the third gold medal for Israel at this first Grand Prix in Tel Aviv and first ever World Tour event in Israel. European champion Sagi Muki (ISR) won Grand Slam gold for the second time and soaked up every second of joy and emotion following the U81kg final against Zagreb Grand Prix silver medallist Matthias Casse (BEL). Muki, who previously registered Grand Slam in Baku in 2014, won their first meeting on his way to the European crown at home in April and was again superior to the former Junior World Championships winner. Israel will have a Grand Prix in 2019. In Abu Dhabi the IJF and the Israel Judo Association. IJF President Marius Vizer, Israel's Sports and Culture Minister Ms. Miri Regev and Israel Judo Association President Moshe Ponte signed a groundbreaking deal for Israel to host a Grand Prix event for the first time in 2019.
