Czech judoka Michal Horák won the Grand Prix in Ulaanbaatar in 2013 U100kg which was one of his career highlights among other international judo world cup medals and various national medals. He won bronze at the PanAm Open in Lima and won bronze at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2016. In 2017 he took a silver medal at the African Open in Casablanca. He took a bronze medal at the European Cup in Bratislava in 2017 and 2019.

Romanian World Judo Masters winner Daniel Natea has now won both of his Grand Slam gold medals in Abu Dhabi after a workman-like win over Tashkent Grand Prix bronze medallist Aliaksandr Vakhaviak (BLR) in the heavyweight men’s final. Natea was in devastating form in the preliminaries with a host of ippons worthy of the highlight reel treatment as he has become the leading heavyweight who is active on the tour post-Rio 2016. Czech Republic wants third gold for Lukas Krpalek

This weekend The Czech Republic is ready to welcome all male athletes for the last stop of the European Opens during the qualifying period for Rio 2016. In Prague over 300 competitors amongst 58 nations will be on show at Arena Sparta in Prague. Among the athletes 2014 World Champion Lukas Krpalek fighting U100kg. Krpalek can defend his title of 2014 and continue his streak, also in 2012 Lukas won the Czech Open. Read more
