Daniel Allerstorfer of Austria won World Cup medals since 2013 in Bucharest and Glasgow. In 2014 he won bronze in Astana and was in the final of the Grand Prix in Tashkent. The European Junior champion of 2011 won U23 silver in 2013. He is the Austrian champion of 2015 and 2013. Coach: Patrick Rusch, Club: UJZ Muhlviertel. Allerstorferfinished seventh at the World Championships in 2018. He claimed a bronze medal at the 2018 Grand Prix in Cancun. He began judo at 7.

Olympic champion Krpalek bounces back from Worlds disappointment

Czech Judo star Lukas Krpalek won his third Grand Prix gold medal as he responded to his fifth-place finish at the World Championships with a clinical showing in Mexico. World number two Krpalek defeated former U90kg judoka and Antalya Grand Prix bronze medallist Andy Granda (CUB) in the last contest of the Cancun Grand Prix. Read more

Khasan Khalmurzaev seems ready for the Olympic confrontation with rivals Avtandili Tchrikishvili and Takanori Nagase. At the European Cup for Bratislava the Russian European Champion took the victory U81kg. In the final Khalmurzaev defeated Benjamin Muennich of Germany. In a field of 33 judoka Khalmurzaev won his five matches. Although very few Olympic athletes participated in Bratislava, the Russian team sent part of its first team. Ulaanbaatar Grand Prix winner Nishigata Kenta (JPN) won his second Grand Prix title by overcoming the defending Tashkent Grand Prix winner Battulga Temuulen (MGL). The men’s heavyweight final was won by Stepan Sarkisyan of Russia. He was the most convincing today and made immediately clear that he wanted to gold in his final match against Daniel Allerstorfer of Austria.
