Mayra Aguiar of Brazil became World Champion in 2017 in Budapest and in 2014 in Chelyabinsk U78kg and silver in 2018. She won five World Championships medals and Aguiar won Olympic Games bronze in Rio in 2016 and London 2012. She took the World Junior Championships U20 in 2010 in Agadir. She won bronze at the World Championships in 2011 in Paris. In 2016 Aguiar won the Grand Slam in Paris. She took gold at the Grand Prix in Budapest in 2019.

Zooming into the stats, just confirms that the Japanese are true masters taking the gold in a final. Double world champion Mayra Aguiar of Brazil defeated World Judo Masters silver medallist Sato Ruika (JPN) to win U78kg gold on the last day in Budapest. Two-time Olympic bronze medallist Aguiar, who is one of the favourites for the World Championships next month, edged past her long-time rival in golden score after Sato was penalised for passivity and received hansoku-make.
