Paralympic judoka Eduardo Avila Sanchez of Mexico won gold U73kg at his Paralympic debut at Beijing 2008 and regained the gold in Rio in 2016. At London 2012 he took bronze.U73kg. He won gold at the IBSA World Championships 2014 in Colorado. In 2015 he won bronze at the IBSA World Games in Seoul having won gold in 2014. In August 2015, he won his third Parapan American Games gold medal. He is a former multiple Mexican champion. He claimed the bronze medal at the IBSA Grand Prix in Baku in 2019.
