Italian judoka Edwige Gwend won the Grand Prix Tashkent in 2015. Gwend won the European U23 Championships in 2010. Also in 2010 also won silver at the Senior European Championships in Vienna. She claimed various major victories and collected almost 25 world level medals. Competed at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. She finished with silver at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2017. In 2018 she took a bronze medal at the European Open in Rome. She took bronze at the Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg in 2018.

Nouchi Aimi of Japan won Russia’s Grand Slam in Efor the second time as the unseeded Japanese was the fighter of the day at U63kg. Nouchi, 22, who won the Tyumen Grand Slam in 2016 and Tunis Grand Prix silver medallist bested one-time Grand Slam winner Juul Franssen (NED) in the last final of the day. Read more

Three Italian medals in Rome Japan tops the table

Two Japanese topped the medal table of the European Open in Rome. But two Italians stole the hearts of the home crowd. The three bronze medallists Edwige Gwend, Rosalba Forciniti and Francesca Milani. Rosalba Forciniti grabs Italian title after gap of eight years

Remarkable results at the Italian Championships in Ostia this weekend. Rosalba Forciniti captured the title for women U52kg. Forciniti recently found the pleasure in judo and after getting two children she started training again in January. She competed last weekend in Ostia and won the title.
