Former #1 of the World Musa Mogushkov was successful U66kg with World senior bronze in 2011. He won the Grand Prix in The Hague in 2018. He lost at the Olympic Games in London and switched to U73 where he won another World bronze in 2014. Won many European medals with the Russian team. Won the Grand Prix Samsun in 2015 and Grand Slam in Tyumen in 2016. He took bronze at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2016. He captured silver at the European Championships in Warsaw in 2017.

Russia defeats Portugal in nail-biting mixed team final

Russia needed to pull out all stops to win gold against an unfancied Portugal as the judo competition of the Minsk 2019 European Games concluded with the mixed team event. While Russia was the favourite and advanced easily to the final with wins over Turkey, Serbia and Belarus, Portugal came out of nowhere to send France to the repechage and beat the Netherlands in the semi-final. Musa Mogushkov sweeps away the opposition for Russian gold

Russian judoka Musa Mogushkov beat Abu Dhabi Grand Slam silver medallist Akil Gjakova of Kosovo for the first time to win his third Grand Prix title. Gjakova beat Mogushkov in the semi-finals at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam two weeks ago but the latter avenged that result in today’s U73kg final after three and a half minutes of golden score. London 2012 Olympic champion and Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Lasha Shavdatuashvili (GEO) has now won as many Grand Slam titles as he has Olympic titles.
