Ugo Legrand has announced to retire from judo with immediate effect. The 2012 European champion and 2012 Olympic bronze medallist cannot be happier today he wrote on his facebook. Dex Elmont takes his most precious career title in Montpellier
Dex Elmont won the European title in Montpellier, an achievement his world champion brother hadn't done so far. The pride of the two was undescribable. The Dutchman had to wait a long time and won three consecutive European medals from 2006-2008 but this time he won the final. The big Bang came to Paris and won
The Paris Grand Slam saw Bang Gui-Man of Korea winning his first Grand Slam gold medal by inflicting defeat on European kingpin Rok Draksic. Tokyo Grand Slam runner-up Bang stormed to his maiden title with a spinning ko-uchi-gari scoring ippon after just 16 seconds as Draksic remained on the tatami in disbelief and frustration. The South Korean ace secured his place in the final by conquering French European u23 Championship winner Jonathan Allardon (FRA) in 12 seconds by ippon.
