Czech lightweight Pavel Petrikov was 2008 European U23 Champion. He won the Czech Open in Prague in 2016. He is son of Pavel Petrikov Sr. Strong Seoi-Nage. Coached by Petr Lacina. Multiple national champion. Won the World Cups in Rotterdam, Tallinn and Bucharest. Pavel captured a bronze medal at the European Open in Prague in 2018. He took bronze at the European Cup for seniors in Celje in 2018.

Naohisa Takato hit the medal table with second gold medal for Japan. The lightweight regained the world title and was simply the best. Takato of Japan was again solid in his techniques and now won the gold after his bronze in Rio de Janeiro he opens the Olympic cycle with gold. Read more

Japanese lose most points in the World Ranking this week

Due to the reduction of the points of the Grand Prix of Düsseldorf in 2015 by 50% and 2014 to 0% some small moves occurred in the World Ranking top 10. With the new points of Prague and Warsaw only a few benefit in the top 20 of the World Ranking. Czech Pavel Petrikov wins European Open in Prague

For the first time in his career Pavel Petrikov was able to take the gold medal at his ‘own’ tournament in Prague. With this victory young Petrikov, stepped into the footlight of his father, also Pavel, who won the tournament in the eighties. For Petrikov it is also the first time that he wins a European World Cup since 2009. In the final U60kg the Czech judoka was able to overcome French judoka Cedric Revol U60kg. Read more

The Czech fans are happy with a final for Pavel Petrikov. At the European Open in Prague Petrikov will fight French judoka Cedric Revol U60kg. It’s the first time that Petrikov reached the final in his own homeland. His father won the tournament a few times in the eighties where it the tournament didn’t have the status of a World Cup.
