Italian lightweight Valentina Moscatt won a European Championships silver medal in 2007 aged 20. She won two European Junior silver medals and U23 bronze in 2008. She won the World Cups in 2012 and 2013 in Rome and 2013 in Prague. Moscatt won 16 World Cup medals including gold at the PanAm Open Buenos Aires.

The weight division for women U48kg won’t have any athlete of the top 5 of the World Ranking. Experienced judoka take gold at Panam Open Buenos Aires

Spain was the most successful country at the first day of the Pan American Open in Buenos Aires. The strong team of just 6 Spanish in action won four medals. Sugoi Uriarte seemed to secure his participation at the Olympic Games in Rio with gold U66kg. Jaione Equisoain also won gold for her nation defeating Yadinys Amaris of Colombia in the category U57kg. Charline van Snick defeats Ebru Sahin in the final U48kg

The first Baku European Games in judo is for Charline van Snick. In the final for women U48kg she defeated Ebru Sahin of Turkey who was showing such good form despite her arm injury which was still taped well. Van Snick took the 400 points for the World Ranking which will help her to climb the ladder towards a good seeding at the Olympic Games where the best eight will get a protected seed. Read more
