Gui-Man Bang won the IJF World Masters in Suwon in 2010. He 8 World Cups starting 2009 in Ulaanbaatar followed by the Grand Prix in Qingdao that year. In 2013 he won the Grand Prix of Zagreb and had the biggest surprise winning the Grand Slam of Paris in 2014. With Korea he won World bronze in 2010.

The Paris Grand Slam saw Bang Gui-Man of Korea winning his first Grand Slam gold medal by inflicting defeat on European kingpin Rok Draksic. Tokyo Grand Slam runner-up Bang stormed to his maiden title with a spinning ko-uchi-gari scoring ippon after just 16 seconds as Draksic remained on the tatami in disbelief and frustration. The South Korean ace secured his place in the final by conquering French European u23 Championship winner Jonathan Allardon (FRA) in 12 seconds by ippon. In the second semi-final Draksic impressively humbled Olympic champion Mansur Isaev with osaekomi-waza sealing the victory after leading by a yuko. Read more
