Georgii Zantaraia is a phenomenal judoka who won the world title U60kg in 2009 in Rotterdam. The Ukrainian judoka won 6 World Championships medals in a row (2009-2018) and took the European title in 2011 and 2018. He stepped up to U66kg in 2012. In 2017 he regained the European title in Warsaw U66kg. He won silver at the Grand Prix in Hohhot and Zagreb and Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2018. He took bronze at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2019. He captured European Games gold in Minsk.

Bilodid and Zantaraia strikes again with two European gold medals

The Ukraine lead after the first day of the European Games in Minsk. The Ukraine collected two gold medals at the judo tournament. The first gold was expected for World Champion Daria Bilodid. Surprise Denis Vieru claims Moldova’s first Grand Slam crown

Budapest Grand Prix bronze medallist Denis Vieru (MDA) won his first Grand Slam final to record his country’s first win at a Grand Slam.
