Milan Randl of Slovakia won European Junior bronze in 2006. He won the PJC World Cup in Purto la Cruz in 2011 among 10 medals. He also won 4 European Cups in Celje, Sarajevo, Orenburg and at home in Bratislava in 2015. Randl was World Military champion in 2013 and won bronze in 2011. He won bronze at the 2017 African Open in Casablanca. He took a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Montreal.

Three time continental medalist Colton Brown (USA) was on fire today in the men's U90kg weight division at the Grand Prix in Montreal. He entered the final for the first time on the occasion of a Grand Prix to be opposed to the current Olympic Champion, Baker Mashu, who had an amazing series of wins during the morning session, winning three of his matches by ippon and one by waza-ari. History of the European U23 Championships in Bratislava

This week the European Championship U23 will take place in the Slovak capital Bratislava. The little big city on the river Danube. Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, has a long and glorious history. Right now, Bratislava is colorful modern capital that grew from an ancient river crossing. The Slovak Judo federation have a reputation in organizing judo events. In 1995 the European Team Championships were held in Trnava. In 1999 the European senior Championships were organised in Bratislava and this weekend the elite of the European judo U23 are selected to fight for the titles. Read more

Poland claims the victory at European Cup Bratislava

Poland has taken the victory after all at the second day of the European Cup in Bratislava. On Saturday Poland won 7 medals, but no gold. On Sunday it was an all Polish final for men U90kg. Tomasz Szczepaniak and Patryk Ciechomski were the finalist with a guaranteed gold medal for Poland. Read more

Eight Russian titles at European Cup Orenburg

At the European Cup Seniors in Orenburg 272 athletes from 23 countries have entered this year competitions.The male judoka from Orenburg (RUS), Ivan Kulikov (U60kg), showed an excellent fight in the final against the Armenian Ivanyan Grigor winning by waza-ari. Belarusian Nakhaenka Katsiaryna (U48kg) defeated Dmitrieva Anna (RUS) by ippon probably in the most beautiful and exciting fight of the day in female’s division. French Duport Lucile who was coached by the French judoka Celine Lebrun. Duport won her title in the weight category under 52kg. Read more

Two gold medals for Bosnia at home European Cup

Home favourite Aleksandra Samardžic won the gold medal at the European Cup in Sarajevo, Larisa Ceric added another gold for the home nation. France was the winning country though, they collected five gold medals and 8 medals in total. Three nations won two gold medals and all lost one final: Great Britain, Hungary and host nation Bosnia-Herzegovina. Especially for the host this was a marvelous result. Read more
