Luciano Correa was World Champion in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro. He won world bronze in 2005. He competed at the Olympic Games 2008 and 2012. Correa won the PanAm Games in 2011 and 2015 and PanAm Championships in 2005 and 2009. He collected 10 World Cup victories, including Grand Slam Moscow and Grand Prix Dusseldorf. In 2016 he won silver at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2016. He won the Pan American Open in Santiago in 2017.

Strong Olympic candidates show off in Sofia

A few serious candidates two qualify for the Olympic Games won the European Open in Sofia today. Egyptian judoka Ramadan Darwish is in the top 8 U100kg. Last year he lost the final against Michael Korrel, but today he defeated the Dutchman in the semi final and was able to take the gold medal. What a giant clash it was again between Kayla Harrison and Mayra Aguiar. At the Pan American Games in Toronto, the foreseen final indeed occurred and the conclusion is that Kayla Harrison is further in her development then Mayra Aguiar. Both women medalled at the Olympic Games, Harrison as Olympic Champion, Aguiar with bronze, but at the 2014 World Championships it was Aguiar to take the world title for the first time in her career with Harrison who captured the bronze.
