Judoka Mami Asahi from Japan captured a silver medal at the All Japan U21 Championships Saitama U70kg in 2018. She claimed a bronze medal at the Junior European Cup in Leibnitz in 2019. She captured the gold at the World U21 Championships in Marrakech in 2019. With the Japanese team she won the junior mixed team World title in 2019. She won the junior tournament Tournament Aix-en-Provence U21 in 2019. She won the Belgian Open for Juniors in Herstal in 2020 and silver at senior level.
