Azeri judoka Namig Abasli bagged a bronze medal at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. He claimed the bronze medal at the IBSA Grand Prix in Baku in 2019. He took bronze at the IBSA European title in Genoa in 2019. He clinched a silver medal at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2019. He took gold at the 2021 IBSA Judo Grand Prix in Baku. He captured a bronze medal at the IBSA World Champion in Baku in 2022.
