Chinese youngster Hebilige Bu arrived on the circuit last year when he marked his first IJF start with a seventh-place finish at home at the Hohhot Grand Prix. BU made his Grand Slam debut in February in Paris and again recorded a contest win before bowing out in round two at the hands of Sherazadishvili. He took bronze at the European Open in Rome in 2019. He took a bronze medal at the Asian Pacific Championships in Fujairah in 2019.
