Brazilian judoka Stefannie Arissa Koyama was born in the Gunma Prefecture in Japan Koyama won the Grand Slam in Baku in 2017. She had won bronze at the All Japan Judo Championships in Fukuoka in 2016 as well as the East Asian title. She fights for Brazil since 2017. Koyama's teammate was always Funa Tonaki at Teikyo university but switched to Brazil end of 2016. She won gold at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2017.

Georgian success and surprising gold medals at Grand Prix Tbilisi

Two Georgian men won the Grand Prix in Tbilisi today. Lukhumi Chkhvimiani surprised Amiran Papinashvili in the final U60kg and took the gold. Chkhvimiani was highly impressive with three ippons and two wazari matches. In fact another surprise U66kg was the victory for Lasha Giunashvili of Georgia against Mongolian former world number one Tumurkhuleg Davaadorj in the final U66kg.
