She was 2016 Japanese Junior champion and 2015 Asian Junior champion. She took bronze at the Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg in 2017. Saki won the Grand Prix in Budapest in 2018. Niizoe won the World Masters in 2018 in Guangzhou. She clinched a gold medal at the gold Grand Prix in Hohhot in 2019. She took Grand Slam silver in Paris in 2020.

Paris Grand Slam bronze medallist Niizoe Saki (JPN) captured her second Grand Prix gold medal with a straightforward win over Baku Grand Slam silver medallist Anna Bernholm (SWE) in the U70kg final. Two-time Grand Prix winner Bernholm was thrown with a ashi-guruma for the maximum score for Niizoe who warmed up for the Grand Prix with a traditional Friday evening session at the Kodokan last week. Japan’s Yoko Ono beats France’s Pinot to gold

World bronze medallist Ono Yoko (JPN) won her third Grand Slam title at the expense of Osaka Grand Slam bronze medallist Margaux Pinot (FRA). A nervy contest was settled by penalties in golden score when the home judoka was penalised for the third and final time for leaving the area and the gold medal was gifted to world number 12 Ono. Japanese youngster Saki Niizoe beats Colombian legend Alvear

Niizoe Saki of Japan defeated double Olympic medallist and three-time world champion Yuri Alvear (COL) for the second time this year to earn the best result of her young career. Niizoe, who beat Alvear in February at the Düsseldorf Grand Slam, threw the 32-year-old Colombian great with a tai-otoshi for a waza-ari score and impressively held onto her lead to reign for rampant Japan. Shohei Ono wins Asian Games title after victory vs An
