Fourteen different winning nations this weekend at the African Open in Casablanca. On Sunday two gold medals for the African nations. Host nation Morocco won the gold medal for women U70kg, Assmaa Niang booked her third World Cup victory ever. In Casablanca she defeated Chantal Wright of the USA in a pool with just five women. It was almost two years ago since Ilse Heylen won a World Cup event but on Saturday in Casablanca the Belgian veteran added another record of becoming the oldest ever winner of a World Cup in judo history. Almost 39, at 38 years and 357 days she captured the gold in the Morocco U52kg and confirmed she will likely be among the participants of the 2016 Olympic Games. Read more

About 300 athletes from more than 50 nations will be present at the African Open in Casablanca, one of the last qualifying possibilities and the last in Africa, excepted for the continental championships.
